Job Summary

Are you a Sports Coach looking to make a difference outside of the sports field? We are recruiting passionate and resilient individuals to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs within a specialist Birmingham school. This long-term opportunity is ideal for candidates looking to transfer their coaching skills into education, with the potential to become permanent.

The School and Role

Kitts Green Academy is a specialist SEMH provision supporting boys aged 6–16 who require additional behavioural and emotional support to succeed in education. The school is seeking enthusiastic Sports Coaches to join their dedicated support team and help pupils overcome barriers to learning.

Using your experience of motivating young people through sport, you will support pupils to develop confidence, emotional regulation and positive relationships both inside and outside of the classroom. Your role will involve supporting lessons, encouraging engagement, promoting positive behaviour and delivering structured activities that help pupils achieve both academically and socially.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals from sports coaching backgrounds who are looking for a rewarding career within education. Your ability to build rapport, set boundaries and inspire young people will be invaluable within this specialist setting. Requirements

The desired Sports Coach to Classroom candidate will have;

  • Experience coaching or mentoring children and young people
  • Strong communication and behaviour management skills
  • A resilient, energetic and proactive approach
  • The ability to build positive relationships and motivate pupils
  • A passion for supporting young people with SEMH needs
