Salary/Package - £65,000 - £70,000 Basic + Car + Benefits Package

My client is an LPCB Level 3 accredited fire sprinkler specialist based in the South of the UK, delivering the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of automatic sprinkler systems, water mist, gas suppression, wet and dry risers, and ancillary fire protection systems across a nationwide client base. Members of BAFSA and the Fire Protection Association, and holders of ISO 9001 and CHAS Premium Plus accreditation, they have built a strong reputation for quality and professionalism working with high-profile high street brands, major supermarkets, and leading main contractors across the UK.

As the business grows its presence in London and the South East, they are now looking to appoint an experienced Sprinkler Project Manager to lead project delivery in the region.

The Role

Reporting directly into the senior leadership team and working closely with the estimating and design functions, the Sprinkler Project Manager will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of fire sprinkler installation projects across London and the South East. You will be the primary point of contact for main contractors, clients, and consultants in the region, managing projects from contract award through to commissioning and handover.

This is a autonomous, field-based role suited to a driven individual with a solid grounding in fire sprinkler installation who is ready to take ownership of a regional project portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Project Delivery

  • Manage the full lifecycle of fire sprinkler installation projects from post-contract award through design coordination, procurement, installation, commissioning, and client handover
  • Develop and maintain detailed project programmes, ensuring milestones are met and any risks to programme or budget are identified and managed proactively
  • Coordinate with the clients in-house design team to ensure drawings, hydraulic calculations, and technical submittals are issued on time and in line with project requirements
  • Oversee site operations, managing directly employed operatives and specialist subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, to specification, and on programme
  • Conduct regular site visits across the London region, monitoring progress, quality, and compliance
  • Manage project variations, change orders, and RFIs, maintaining a clear audit trail and ensuring commercial impact is captured and agreed with the client

Commercial Management

  • Monitor project costs against budget throughout delivery, producing regular cost reports and flagging any margin risk to the Operations Director
  • Manage applications for payment, valuations, and final accounts in conjunction with the commercial team
  • Review and negotiate subcontractor accounts and supplier orders within agreed parameters
  • Contribute to post-project reviews, feeding lessons learned back into estimating and operational processes

Client & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the clients primary point of contact for main contractors, client representatives, M&E consultants, and local authorities across your project portfolio
  • Attend site meetings, design coordination meetings, and client progress reviews, representing the client professionally at all times
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key clients in the London region, supporting business development and repeat work opportunities
  • Manage expectations proactively - communicating clearly on programme, scope, and any issues before they become problems

Health, Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all site operations are conducted in full compliance with CDM 2015, current Health & Safety legislation, and the clients internal safe systems of work
  • Review and approve RAMS, site-specific H&S plans, and method statements prior to works commencing on site
  • Ensure all sprinkler installations comply with BS EN 12845, LPC Rules, and relevant British Standards throughout delivery
  • Maintain up-to-date commissioning records, O&M documentation, and as-fitted drawing packages for handover

Essential Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience delivering fire sprinkler installation projects as a project manager, contracts manager, or senior site supervisor
  • Sound technical knowledge of wet and dry automatic sprinkler systems in line with BS EN 12845 and LPC Rules
  • Experience managing main contractor relationships and working within the principal contractor environment on commercial, retail, or industrial projects
  • Commercially aware - able to manage project budgets, variations, and applications for payment
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple active projects simultaneously across a geographic region
  • Full UK driving licence

Desirable

  • LPCB, BAFSA, or FIA industry knowledge or membership
  • SMSTS or SSSTS site management safety qualification
  • Experience working with residential sprinkler systems (BS 9251) or water mist installations
  • Familiarity with gas suppression, wet risers, or dry riser systems
  • Previous experience in a specialist fire protection subcontractor environment
  • First Aid at Work certificate
