Location: Critical Site In Welwyn Garden City
Terms: Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm or 7AM - 4PM
Salary/rate: Salary is paying between £55,000 Per annum
Requirements:
- F-Gas Category 1 (Must Have)
- City & Guilds level 2 in Electrical Engineering
- Commercial building maintenance experience in a customer-facing environment
- Experience in downflow units, CRAC units and split units
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance, fault finding, and repair of a wide range of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment within a critical commercial environment. This role requires a proactive engineer who can ensure maximum system reliability while maintaining high standards of health & safety and customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on air conditioning systems.
- Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs.
- Service, maintain, and repair:
- Downflow units
- CRAC (Computer Room Air Conditioning) units
- Split systems
- Conduct leak detection, refrigerant recovery, evacuation, pressure testing, and system recharging in accordance with F-Gas regulations.
- Replace and repair components including compressors, fan motors, contactors, expansion valves, sensors, thermostats, capacitors, and control boards.
- Inspect, clean, and replace filters, belts, coils, condensers, evaporators, and drainage systems to maintain optimum performance.
- Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reliability.
- Carry out temperature checks and performance testing on critical cooling systems.
- Complete routine inspections and identify remedial works before equipment failures occur.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and minimise downtime within the critical environment.
- Liaise with the client regarding maintenance schedules, repairs, and system performance.
- Ensure all work complies with current health & safety legislation, F-Gas regulations, and company procedures.
- Complete electronic job sheets, service reports, and asset documentation accurately.
