DK Recruitment are recruiting for a Static Fabric Engineer on behalf of a leading commercial Facilities Management company. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established FM provider, working on a prestigious commercial site in Swindon.

The Role

As a Static Fabric Engineer, you'll be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fabric repairs across the site. You'll ensure the building is maintained to a high standard, supporting the wider engineering team to provide a safe, compliant and well-maintained environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned and reactive building fabric maintenance.
  • Complete carpentry, painting, decorating and general building repairs.
  • Repair doors, locks, windows, ceilings, flooring and partition walls.
  • Undertake basic plumbing repairs, including taps, toilets and pipework.
  • Carry out patch plastering, tiling and minor roofing repairs where required.
  • Perform routine site inspections and identify maintenance issues before they become major defects.
  • Support mechanical and electrical engineers with general maintenance tasks when required.
  • Accurately complete maintenance records and update the CAFM system.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety procedures.
  • Maintain excellent working relationships with the client and on-site team.

About You

  • Previous experience as a Fabric Engineer, Building Maintenance Engineer, Handyperson or Multi-Skilled Maintenance Operative.
  • Strong all-round building fabric maintenance skills.
  • Experience working within commercial Facilities Management is highly desirable.
  • Competent in carpentry, decorating and general building repairs.
  • Basic plumbing knowledge would be advantageous.
  • Good understanding of health and safety practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
