The Role
As a Static Fabric Engineer, you'll be responsible for carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive fabric repairs across the site. You'll ensure the building is maintained to a high standard, supporting the wider engineering team to provide a safe, compliant and well-maintained environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out planned and reactive building fabric maintenance.
- Complete carpentry, painting, decorating and general building repairs.
- Repair doors, locks, windows, ceilings, flooring and partition walls.
- Undertake basic plumbing repairs, including taps, toilets and pipework.
- Carry out patch plastering, tiling and minor roofing repairs where required.
- Perform routine site inspections and identify maintenance issues before they become major defects.
- Support mechanical and electrical engineers with general maintenance tasks when required.
- Accurately complete maintenance records and update the CAFM system.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety procedures.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with the client and on-site team.
About You
- Previous experience as a Fabric Engineer, Building Maintenance Engineer, Handyperson or Multi-Skilled Maintenance Operative.
- Strong all-round building fabric maintenance skills.
- Experience working within commercial Facilities Management is highly desirable.
- Competent in carpentry, decorating and general building repairs.
- Basic plumbing knowledge would be advantageous.
- Good understanding of health and safety practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
