Static Mechanical Maintenance Engineer – Chelsea Barracks

Polyteck Building Services is looking for an experienced Static Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to support planned and reactive maintenance at Chelsea Barracks.

We are looking for a strong, mechanically biased engineer with good building services knowledge, who can work independently, carry out PPMs, diagnose faults and complete remedial works across mechanical plant and associated M&E systems.

What you'll be doing

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on mechanical plant and building services systems
  • Attend reactive callouts and complete repairs efficiently
  • Fault-find on mechanical systems, with basic electrical fault-finding where required
  • Carry out remedial works identified during inspections and maintenance
  • Complete PPMs, job sheets, logbooks and site records accurately
  • Monitor plant rooms and ensure equipment is maintained to a high standard
  • Carry out site audits and identify additional remedial works
  • Maintain accurate plant and asset information
  • Liaise with the Help Desk to ensure planned works are completed on time
  • Review RAMS and issue permits where required
  • Work in accordance with Health & Safety procedures and risk assessments
  • Liaise professionally with clients, tenants and contractors

What we're looking for

  • Strong mechanical building services maintenance experience
  • Good knowledge of mechanical plant and M&E systems
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance
  • Relevant City & Guilds qualification or time-served apprenticeship
  • Basic electrical knowledge would be advantageous
  • Good systems and computer literacy
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage site priorities

This role would suit an experienced mechanically biased engineer who is comfortable taking ownership of day-to-day maintenance and supporting the smooth running of a busy static site.
