Steel Fixer

Steelfixer (Plymouth) – Fulltime

An opportunity to work on our MOD project in Plymouth, delivering major redevelopment works over the coming years.

PAYE basis

Paid Holidays: 30 days per year (including bank holidays)

Must Have:

• CSCS Blue Skilled Worker Card
• Level 2 NVQ Steelfixing or Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Steelfixing
• Safety Critical Medical desirable
• Previous experience as a Steelfixer on major construction or infrastructure projects
• Experience fixing reinforcement steel for reinforced concrete structures
• Good understanding of reinforcement drawings and bar schedules
• Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable and proactive approach to work
• Must be eligible for BPSS Security Clearance
• Candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years

This role is site based - Monday to Friday

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, tie and secure reinforcement steel in accordance with engineering drawings
• Position reinforcement cages, mesh and steel bars to the required specifications
• Read and interpret reinforcement drawings and bar schedules
• Work closely with formwork carpenters, concrete finishers and site engineers
• Carry out quality checks to ensure reinforcement is installed correctly before concrete placement
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised work area
• Comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental procedures
• Support the successful delivery of major MOD infrastructure works
