Building Surveyor - Social Housing & Stock Condition

Location: Oxfordshire
Salary: Up to £85,000 DOE + £450 Car Allowance + Fuel Card + Benefits

Are you an experienced Building Surveyor / Stock Condition Surveyor with a strong background working across Social Housing or Local Authority property portfolios?

We're looking for a well-rounded surveyor with experience across the wider social housing workstream, including stock condition, disrepair, repairs, voids and refurbishment, with particularly strong technical and legal report-writing skills.



The Role

  • Undertake stock condition surveys, property inspections and defect diagnosis across social housing properties.
  • Assess and report on disrepair, repairs, void properties and general property condition.
  • Produce clear, accurate and robust technical and legal reports.
  • Identify defects and recommend appropriate remedial works and maintenance solutions.
  • Prepare specifications, schedules of works and cost estimates.
  • Inspect works and liaise with contractors, housing teams, legal teams and other stakeholders.
  • Provide technical advice to Local Authorities, Housing Associations and social housing clients.
  • Support wider planned maintenance, refurbishment and asset management programmes.


About You

  • Strong background working within Social Housing or Local Authority environments.
  • Experience across stock condition, disrepair, repairs, voids and/or refurbishment.
  • Excellent technical report-writing skills, with the ability to produce robust reports suitable for legal purposes.
  • Strong understanding of building defects, repairs, maintenance and housing condition.
  • Experience working alongside housing, legal and property teams.
  • Relevant surveying/construction qualification; RICS desirable.
  • Strong communication and client-facing skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Passive fire / FRA experience is advantageous but not essential.
