Overview
We are looking for an experienced Stock Condition Surveyor to join a busy Asset Management team, helping to maintain and improve a large residential property portfolio. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in building surveying who enjoys a varied workload combining inspections, technical reporting and asset data management.
You will carry out stock condition surveys, assess building defects, support planned investment programmes and ensure property information is accurate to help inform future maintenance and compliance strategies. Working closely with colleagues, contractors and residents, you'll play an important role in delivering high-quality surveying services while contributing to the long-term performance of the housing stock.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed stock condition surveys across a varied residential property portfolio, ensuring accurate and reliable asset information is captured.
- Produce technical reports, schedules of work and specifications to support planned maintenance and investment programmes.
- Complete EPC assessments and maintain accurate records within the organisation's asset management systems.
- Undertake HHSRS inspections, investigate disrepair cases and prepare technical reports where required.
- Diagnose building defects and provide specialist advice on building construction, maintenance and remedial solutions.
- Support the quality assurance of survey data, ensuring information is consistent, compliant and fit for future asset planning.
- Provide guidance and day-to-day support to colleagues within the surveying team, sharing technical knowledge and promoting best practice.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure works are delivered in accordance with relevant health & safety legislation and CDM requirements.
- Work collaboratively with residents, contractors and internal stakeholders to deliver a professional, customer-focused surveying service.
Requirements:
- Construction-related degree or equivalent or extensive surveying experience
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
