Stock Controller

Due to increased workload, we are looking for an additional Stock Controller to provide practical support across our Stores, Warehouse and Assembly areas. This is an important hands-on role helping to ensure our manufacturing teams have the stock, materials and support they need to operate efficiently and keep production running smoothly. The role would suit someone who has proven experience in stores, stock control, warehousing, picking, packing and goods in/out.

As Stock Controller, you will be involved in a varied range of stores and warehouse duties, including goods in and out, picking and packing, stock movement, kitting materials for production and supporting other areas of production when required. You should be happy being on your feet throughout the day and physically able to lift, move and handle stock safely.

Reporting to a senior manager and working in a small team of 4, your role involves:

• Maintain accurate stock records using the company's ERP/MRP system.
• Monitor stock levels and identify when materials or components need to be reordered.
• Carry out regular stock checks, cycle counts and stocktakes.
• Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies, ensuring the system accurately reflects physical stock.
• Receive and check incoming materials and components against purchase orders and delivery documentation.
• Ensure stock is correctly labelled, stored and recorded.
• Issue materials and components to production as required.
• Monitor stock movements throughout the manufacturing process.
• Support the purchasing team with information regarding stock levels and material requirements.
• Investigate shortages, discrepancies and delivery issues with suppliers where necessary.
• Maintain accurate records relating to stock, goods received and goods issued.
• Assist with maintaining an organised, safe and efficient stores/stock area.
• Work closely with Production and Engineering to ensure materials are available to meet manufacturing schedules.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives relating to stock control and inventory accuracy.
• Provide hands-on support across the warehouse and assembly areas when required.

To be successful for the stock controller role, you must have previous stock, stores, goods in and out related experience and be comfortable working in a busy stores area. You will be reliable, flexible and willing to support different parts of the department to help ensure products are manufactured in a timely and efficient way. A positive attitude, good attention to detail and good PC skills are essential.
