Store Manager / Retail Manager – High Street Retail

Location: Guildford
Salary: from £28,500 + 15% discount + quarterly bonus
Hours: 40 hours per week over 5 days (weekend working required) 

About the role
We’re looking for a hands‑on Store Manager to lead a busy high‑street store specialising in cards, gifts and partyware. You’ll take ownership of your store, drive performance and create a brilliant experience for customers and your team. You’ll be the kind of manager who leads from the front, sets the tone on the shop floor and brings energy to every shift. It’s a great opportunity for an experienced Store Manager or a strong Assistant Manager ready for the next step. This is a hands‑on retail leadership role where you’ll oversee day‑to‑day store operations, drive KPIs and lead a small team in a fast‑paced high‑street environment.

What you’ll do in your role as a Store Manager

• Lead, coach and motivate your team

• Drive sales and achieve store targets

• Maintain high standards of merchandising, housekeeping and safety

• Recruit, train and develop your team

• Plan, delegate and prioritise effectively

• Ensure compliance with company procedures and cash handling

What you’ll bring to the role of Store Manager

• Retail management experience (Assistant Manager or above)

• A customer‑first mindset and strong commercial awareness

• Confident in leading and developing a team

• Ability to manage priorities in a fast‑paced environment

• A positive, hands‑on approach

• Experience managing people, coaching performance and driving commercial results in a retail environment
