Stores Manager in Seaham

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum

We are recruiting for an experienced Stores Manager to join a well-established manufacturing business.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, hands-on individual to take ownership of the engineering stores function, ensuring effective stock control, purchasing and availability of essential spare parts and materials to support a busy production environment.

• Oversee the day-to-day running of the engineering stores.

• Manage stock levels, inventory accuracy and replenishment of engineering spare parts and consumables.

• Ensure critical components are readily available to minimise production downtime.

• Manage purchasing activities, supplier relationships and delivery schedules.

• Conduct regular stocktakes, audits and inventory checks.

• Identify opportunities to improve stock control processes and reduce costs.

• Work closely with engineering, maintenance and production teams to ensure operational requirements are met.

• Maintain accurate records using stock management and ERP systems.

• Ensure the stores area is organised, safe and operating efficiently.

• Implement improvements to stores procedures and inventory management.

• Previous experience in a Stores Manager, Engineering Stores Supervisor, Inventory Manager or similar position.

• Experience within a manufacturing, engineering or industrial environment.

• Good knowledge of engineering spare parts, mechanical and electrical components.

• Strong stock control, inventory management and purchasing experience.

• Experience using ERP, MRP or computerised stock management systems.

• Excellent organisational and communication skills.

• Ability to prioritise workloads and work effectively with engineering and production teams.

• A proactive, hands-on approach with strong attention to detail.

• Salary of £40,000 – £45,000 per annum.
