My clients are one of the UK’s largest independent installers of car HiFi, cellular and telematics. The team of mobile engineers are based right across the UK & Ireland & offer a wide range of in-car & home installs to National Retailers, insurers, fleet telematics providers & wholesalers. Customer service & a quality installation are at the heart of the ethos and have led to the steady growth of the business.
Further growth and new premises in 2023 mean my clients are now looking for dedicated skilled individual who can work under pressure whilst keeping the customer at the heart of they we do. They now require a Stores Manager responsible for overseeing the storage, control, purchasing, and distribution of vehicle installation equipment, parts, tools, and consumables used in fleet management and vehicle technology installations. The role ensures technicians have the correct stock and equipment available to complete installations efficiently while maintaining accurate inventory records and cost control.
Working hours Monday – Friday 8.30 – 5.30
Every third Saturday 8.30 – 4.00
Salary starting around 29k depending on experience, maybe more for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities
Stock & Inventory Management
Manage all inventory relating to vehicle installations, including telematics, cameras, tracking systems, sensors, wiring looms, mounting brackets, and associated hardware.
Maintain accurate stock records using inventory management systems.
Monitor stock levels and forecast future requirements based on installation schedules.
Conduct regular cycle counts and full stock audits.
Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
Fleet Installation Support
Ensure installation kits are prepared and available for field engineers.
Coordinate stock allocation for projects and customer contracts.
Support operational planning by ensuring materials are available for scheduled installations.
Manage returns, faulty equipment, and warranty claims.
Purchasing & Supplier Management
Liaise with suppliers to procure installation equipment and consumables.
Monitor supplier performance regarding quality, cost, and delivery.
Negotiate pricing and maintain cost-effective purchasing practices.
Raise purchase orders and track deliveries.
Team Leadership
Lead and develop Stores Operatives and Warehouse personnel.
Allocate workloads and monitor productivity.
Deliver training on stock control procedures and best practices.
Promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Compliance & Quality
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations.
Maintain safe storage of tools, equipment, and vehicle technology products.
Support operational compliance requirements.
Ensure stores processes meet company standards and audit requirements.
Reporting
Produce reports on stock levels, stock value, shortages, and usage trends on a weekly monthly basis.
Monitor and report KPI performance including stock accuracy and stock availability.
Support budgeting and inventory control initiatives.
Person Specification
Essential Experience
Minimum 3 years' experience in Stores, Warehouse, Inventory, or Logistics Management.
Previous supervisory or management experience.
Experience managing inventory systems and stock control processes.
Experience supporting mobile engineering, vehicle installation, automotive, fleet, or technical operations.

Experience within fleet management, telematics, vehicle CCTV, vehicle safety systems, or automotive sectors.
Knowledge of installation scheduling and field service operations for field-based engineers.
