Overview
We are seeking a reliable and organised Operative / Storeman to support the efficient management of tools and equipment across our stores and depot locations. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining accurate stock control, supporting operational processes, and ensuring high standards of service and communication.
What your day will look like:
- Manage the movement of small tools between Projects and depot locations
- Process internal and external hire requests,
- Raise sales and repair charges in accordance with company procedures
- Conduct Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI), Off-Hire inspections, and perform minor repairs and servicing
- Coordinate the exchange of externally hired equipment with internal stock where appropriate
- Arrange equipment swaps for assets requiring servicing or maintenance
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the stores and workshop areas
- Conduct regular weekly inspections of the workspace
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues, including teams based in the Midlands
What we need from you:
- Proven knowledge and understanding of small tools and equipment
- Strong communication skills, both verbal (telephone) and written (email)
- Ability to manage workload independently and prioritise tasks effectively
- Good level of computer literacy
- Familiarity with Syrinx systems is advantage but not essential
- Flexibility to deliver equipment when required
- Comfortable using mobile devices and digital tools
