As a Stores Operative you will be responsible for the storage, receipting/issuing, accounting, control and security of a wide range of Uniform, PPE, Specialist and Serialised Equipment.

You will carry out the tasks required to maintain an efficient supply chain and Logistics service for the provision of Uniform, Specialist equipment, and PPE, including the provision of a measuring and fitting service to officers and staff.

This position is based at our Detroit Road, Glenrothes site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a prompt, efficient and effective customer service to Stores users. Manage all enquiries to the store, either remotely or in person to members of the public, officers and staff, ensuring duties are performed to ensure a high quality service provision.
  • Maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the shop floor/warehouse ensuring it remains free from hazards, taking a proactive approach to highlight any issues to line management to ensure a safe environment is maintained for self and others.
  • Proactively contribute to upholding key assurance initiatives to ensure the department remains compliant with policy such as, but not limited to; COSHH, Manual Handling, Fire Safety. Ensure accidents and near misses are reported in accordance with current protocols.
  • Safely operate or utilise all material handling and other equipment necessary to fulfil the functions of the post, (e.g. forklift truck, pallet truck etc.).
  • Responsible for system based receipting and subsequent storage of all products in a systematic, safe and orderly manner ensuring stock rotation, where appropriate.
