Stores Person / Material Controller ID51279

Humand

Location: West Oxfordshire

Hours: Full time, 40 hours per week

Permanent

Are you an organised, practical person who enjoys keeping things running smoothly?

We are recruiting for a Stores & Materials Controller to join a growing engineering and manufacturing business in West Oxfordshire.

This is not a traditional warehouse position. You will play an important part in making sure engineers and project teams have the right parts and materials available when they need them.

You could already be working within stores, warehousing or stock control, or perhaps have experience within an automotive, manufacturing or engineering environment and be looking for your next opportunity.

What will you be doing?

You will be involved across the full stores and materials function, including:

  • Receiving and booking in parts and materials
  • Checking deliveries against purchase orders
  • Picking and issuing parts to engineers and project teams
  • Kitting materials against Bills of Materials
  • Booking stock in and out against projects
  • Picking, packing and preparing goods for dispatch
  • Carrying out stocktakes and rolling stock counts
  • Investigating and correcting stock discrepancies
  • Keeping stock records accurate and up to date
  • Maintaining well organised storage and stores areas
  • Supporting engineers with day to day parts and material requirements
  • Completing relevant paperwork and project documentation
  • Occasionally collecting parts from suppliers

What are we looking for?

Previous experience within stores, warehousing, stock control or materials would be useful, although we are also open to people with transferable experience and the right attitude.

Experience using Sage would be particularly beneficial.

We would also be keen to speak with people who have worked within manufacturing, automotive, engineering or another parts based environment.

Most importantly, you will need to be organised, reliable and comfortable working in a hands on environment. Good attention to detail is important, as you will be responsible for ensuring parts and stock are correctly recorded and allocated.

A full UK driving licence would be preferred.

What's on offer?

You'll be joining an established and growing engineering business where the stores function plays an important role in supporting both day to day operations and larger engineering projects.

The position offers:

  • Salary up to £28,500 depending on experience
  • 40 hour working week
  • Early finish on Fridays
  • 23 days' annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Additional holiday available with length of service
  • Permanent, stable position
  • Opportunity to develop your experience within materials and stock control

If you have experience within stores, warehousing, manufacturing, automotive or engineering and are looking for a varied role where you can become an important part of a close knit team, we'd be keen to hear from you.
