Storesperson in Yateley, Hampshire

We are currently recruiting for a Storesperson to join our well-established manufacturing business based in Yateley. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving, storing, picking and dispatching stock and components, ensuring all items are handled accurately, safely and efficiently.

The Role of Storesperson:

• Receiving, checking and putting away incoming stock and components.
• Carrying out stock checks and maintaining accurate inventory records.
• Picking kits, components and shortages for the Production team.
• Picking parts for sales orders and internal stock requisitions.
• Delivering and collecting parts between different departments.
• Packing and preparing items for dispatch.
• Counting, weighing, labelling and checking components to ensure accuracy.
• Carrying out basic mechanical inspections, including checking quantities and dimensions.
• Handling electronic components and electro-mechanical parts safely.
• Ensuring the stores and working areas are kept clean, tidy and organised.
• Following health and safety procedures, including manual handling and COSHH requirements.
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives to reduce errors, minimise damage and improve efficiency.

The ideal candidate for the Storesperson:

• Previous experience working within a stores, warehouse or stock control environment.
• Experience handling electronic components or electro-mechanical parts (desirable).
• Good attention to detail, particularly when counting, checking and labelling stock.
• Comfortable using IT systems, ideally with previous experience using stock control software.
• Familiar with manual handling procedures and working within a manufacturing or production environment.
• Full UK driving licence (essential).
• Forklift truck licence (desirable).
• Experience carrying out basic mechanical inspections (desirable).
• Experience handling and packing lithium batteries (desirable).
• Be able to provide proof of UK residency for the previous five years.
• Be suitable to obtain the required security clearance.
