Meridian Business Support is recruiting on behalf of a public sector client for a HEO Strategic Capability Officer to join their People and Development directorate. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in shaping workforce capability, supporting strategic priorities, and making a real organisational impact within a collaborative and purpose-driven environment.
The role
As a Strategic Capability Officer, you will support the design and delivery of the organisation’s capability strategy, ensuring the workforce has the skills and capacity to meet future demand. You will:
- Identify current and future capability needs aligned to organisational strategy
- Contribute to workforce planning, including capability gap analysis and talent mapping
- Analyse workforce data and produce insight-driven reports to support decision making
- Support the development of learning frameworks and targeted L&D interventions
- Work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to co-design capability solutions
- Lead on new capability initiatives and manage multiple L&D workstreams
To be successful in this Strategic Capability Officer role, you will bring:
- CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent) with proven HR experience, particularly in Learning and Development
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret workforce data and generate insight
- Experience in workforce planning, capability frameworks or organisational development
- Proven ability to influence stakeholders and manage competing priorities
- Experience in project management and delivering change initiatives
