Street Cleansing Operative to join a team of valued key workers and help make a positive difference to the environment we all live and work in.

As a Street Cleansing Operative, you'll help keep public spaces clean, safe, and welcoming for the communities who rely on them every day. Your work will directly support a cleaner environment and contribute to the pride that people feel in where they live.

What you'll do as a Street Cleansing Operative

  • Carry out street cleansing tasks including litter picking, sweeping, bin emptying, fly-tipping removal, and public toilet cleaning
  • Removing of graffiti, fly poster removal, trimming or removing weed growth and cleaning public toilets or car parks, as necessary.
  • Pushing the street cleaner barrow and use of the mechanical sweeper.
  • Operate and maintain, tools, and cleaning equipment safely
  • Support street cleaning and environmental maintenance services.
  • Work collaboratively with drivers and other operatives & undertake additional duties as required within the Streets Service team.

Essential Requirements

  • Ability to undertake physically demanding outdoor work
  • Able to walk 8-10 miles per shift daily
  • Flexible and positive attitude towards a variety of tasks.
  • Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision & work effectively as part of a team when needed
  • Good communication and teamwork skills
  • Able to carry out heavy lifting duties and carry out manual work outdoors in all weather conditions

Your typical working hours will be:

  • 6.30 am to 3pm - Monday - Friday
  • Over opportunities available
