Structural Design Engineer
North Yorkshire

If you're looking to step away from the corporate conveyor belt and join a consultancy where your work genuinely makes a difference, this could be exactly what you've been searching for.

An established and respected Civil & Structural Engineering Consultancy is continuing to grow and is looking to appoint a Structural Engineer to strengthen its experienced North Yorkshire team. With a healthy pipeline of projects, an excellent reputation for technical quality and a genuinely supportive culture, this is an opportunity to become a valued part of a business where your contribution won't go unnoticed.

Working closely with Directors and Chartered Engineers on a daily basis, you'll be involved in projects from the earliest feasibility stages through to construction, taking ownership of structural designs, liaising directly with clients and helping deliver practical engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial, education, healthcare and industrial developments. No two days are the same, giving you the chance to broaden your technical experience across multiple sectors rather than becoming tied to one project type.

You'll undertake structural calculations, prepare design drawings and technical reports, carry out site inspections and collaborate with architects, developers, contractors and fellow consultants throughout the design process. The business prides itself on delivering practical, buildable engineering solutions and encourages its engineers to take ownership of projects rather than simply becoming another cog in a much larger machine.

They're looking for a Structural Engineer with experience designing in steel, reinforced concrete, timber and masonry, alongside a solid working knowledge of AutoCAD. Experience using Revit and working within BIM environments would be advantageous but isn't essential. Just as importantly, they're looking for someone who enjoys building relationships, communicates confidently with clients and colleagues, and wants to continue developing as an engineer.

This is the type of consultancy where progression happens naturally as the business grows. You'll be encouraged to develop technically, mentor junior engineers as your experience increases and take on greater responsibility, with genuine opportunities to influence projects and your own career rather than waiting years for the next opportunity to arise.

Alongside a competitive salary, you'll receive private healthcare, pension contributions and ongoing professional development within a friendly, collaborative team that enjoys working together. If you're looking for a role offering interesting projects, greater autonomy and the chance to build a long-term career within a growing consultancy, this is well worth exploring.
