Structural Engineer (Temporary Works)

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Intermediate Structural Engineer to join a highly regarded temporary works team. Working alongside experienced engineers, you'll be involved in the design and delivery of a diverse range of temporary works and structural engineering projects, gaining exposure to technically challenging schemes across multiple sectors.

This role is ideal for an engineer looking to build on their existing temporary works experience, develop their technical expertise and progress towards Senior Engineer within a supportive consultancy environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce structural and temporary works designs under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Prepare design calculations, technical reports and engineering drawings.
  • Assist with the design of complex temporary works schemes and construction methodologies.
  • Apply structural engineering principles to develop safe, practical and buildable solutions.
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, technicians and clients to deliver projects on time and to a high standard.
  • Attend design meetings and site visits where required.
  • Support the successful delivery of projects from concept through to construction.
  • Continue developing your technical knowledge and work towards Chartered status.

About You

  • Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Around 2–5 years' experience within structural engineering, with exposure to temporary works design.
  • A solid understanding of structural analysis, materials and Eurocodes.
  • Experience preparing engineering calculations and technical documentation.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively within a collaborative team.
  • Working towards Chartership with ICE or IStructE (or intending to do so).
  • Enthusiastic, proactive and keen to develop your technical expertise within temporary works.
