An established and forward-thinking Civil & Structural Engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Structural Engineer to join its Manchester team.
The consultancy provides civil and structural engineering services nationwide and works on a varied portfolio ranging from major new-build developments to complex renovation projects across sectors including residential, commercial, leisure, education, industrial, and theme parks.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for a Structural Engineer looking to take on a varied workload and develop their experience across different building types and sectors.
Responsibilities will include:
- Structural design of steel, reinforced concrete, masonry and timber structures
- Producing calculations, specifications and technical design information
- Working on projects from initial concept through to detailed design and construction
- Coordinating closely with technicians, architects and other engineering disciplines
- Attending design meetings and liaising with clients and contractors
- Supporting the delivery of projects while developing greater technical and project responsibility
- Degree-qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Previous experience within a UK structural engineering consultancy
- Good understanding of structural design principles and relevant UK design standards
- Experience designing common building materials including steel and reinforced concrete
- Confident communicator with the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Ambitious engineer looking to continue developing technically and professionally
- Salary up to £50,000, depending on experience
- Varied portfolio of new-build and refurbishment projects
- Exposure to multiple sectors rather than being restricted to one project type
