Fitter’s Mate – Glazing & Windows

Job Type: Full-time

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Fitter’s Mate to work alongside an experienced fitter on glazing, windows, doors and aluminium systems.

The successful Fitter’s Mate will support the fitter with day-to-day installation work and help ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

As a Fitter’s Mate, you will:

• Assist the fitter with glazing and installation work.
• Support the fitter with windows and doors.
• Assist with aluminium glazing systems.
• Help install UPVC doors and windows.
• Assist with sliding doors and pivot systems.
• Support architectural glazing installations.
• Assist with glass roofs and glass boxes.
• Safely handle, carry and position glass and materials.
• Prepare tools and materials for the fitter.
• Assist with measuring, fixing, sealing and securing installations.
• Follow the fitter’s instructions and site procedures.
• Keep the work area clean, organised and safe.

Experience & Skills

The ideal Fitter’s Mate will have practical experience working on construction or installation sites.

The ideal Fitter’s Mate will have hands-on site experience.

Experience supporting a fitter is preferred.

Experience with glazing, windows, doors or aluminium systems is an advantage.

You should be comfortable using basic hand and power tools.

You must be able to follow instructions and work safely.

A good work ethic is essential.

Reliability and teamwork are important.
