Student Recruitment Officer
Elite Executive Recruitment
Are you passionate about helping young people overcome barriers, build confidence and take their next steps into education, training or employment?
We’re looking for a proactive and relationship-focused Student Engagement Officer to join a team supporting young people who may be unsure about their next steps or need additional guidance to re-engage with learning. This role is based in Consett.
This is a varied, people-focused role where you’ll be responsible for recruiting and engaging learners, building strong relationships with referral partners and employers, and supporting young people throughout their journey.
You’ll be working closely with schools, Local Authorities, referral organisations, employers, parents and teaching teams to create opportunities that help learners move towards their goals.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Recruit learners onto vocational programmes and manage enrolments.
- Build strong relationships with schools, Local Authorities, NEET teams and referral partners.
- Support learners through regular reviews, guidance and progression planning.
- Develop employer relationships and secure meaningful work placements.
- Monitor learner engagement, attendance, progress and outcomes.
- Work closely with teaching staff, parents and external agencies to provide effective support.
- Identify barriers to engagement and help learners stay motivated and on track.
- Maintain accurate learner records, reporting and compliance documentation.
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in education, employability, youth work, careers advice or vocational training.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting and motivating young people.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and learner management systems.
- Level 2 English and Maths.
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
Why This Role Matters
This isn’t simply an engagement or administration role. You’ll be helping young people take practical steps towards their future. Whether that’s returning to education, gaining valuable work experience, securing an apprenticeship or moving into employment.
If you’re someone who enjoys building relationships, creating opportunities and seeing the impact of your work, this could be a great next step for you.
