Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Student Support Officer to join a supportive secondary school in the Corby area. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about supporting young people, promoting positive behaviour, and helping students overcome barriers to learning.
As a Student Support Officer, you will play a vital role in supporting students' wellbeing, attendance, behaviour, and personal development. Working closely with pastoral leaders, teaching staff, and families, you will help create a positive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide pastoral support to students across the school.
Build positive relationships with students, families, and staff.
Support students with attendance, behaviour, and emotional wellbeing.
Deliver interventions to help students overcome barriers to learning.
Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records.
Assist with safeguarding and student welfare procedures.
Work alongside teaching and pastoral teams to promote positive outcomes for all learners.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Previous experience working with young people in an educational, pastoral, youth work, or support setting.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
A calm, empathetic, and resilient approach.
Strong organisational and administrative abilities.
Experience supporting students with additional needs or challenging behaviour is desirable.
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
