Sub Agent – Water / Civil Engineering

Location: Walthamstow, London, N17
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 + Package

Are you an experienced Section Engineer working within the water sector and looking to take the next step in your career into a Sub Agent role?

We are currently recruiting for a Sub Agent to join a leading civil engineering and infrastructure contractor on a major water infrastructure project in North London.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Section Engineer who is ready to progress into a Sub Agent position. We are looking for someone with around 5 years’ experience within the water sector, ideally gained with a direct-delivery civil engineering contractor.

As Sub Agent, you will support the Site Agent and Project Manager in the successful delivery of the project, with responsibility across engineering, programme, site management, health & safety, quality and commercial performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support the delivery of civil engineering works on site

  • Produce and manage project programmes and supervise delivery

  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications

  • Provide engineering expertise and support to the project team

  • Manage subcontractors and site resources

  • Maintain HSEQ standards and relevant site documentation

  • Chair site meetings and produce accurate project reports

  • Maintain QA documentation and detailed site records

  • Support cost control and commercial performance

  • Ensure works are delivered safely, on programme and to the required quality standards

Requirements

  • Around 5 years’ experience within water/utilities civil engineering

  • Ideally experience working for a direct-delivery contractor

  • Current Section Engineer looking to progress into a Sub Agent role

  • Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering or equivalent

  • CSCS

  • SMSTS

  • NEBOSH or IOSH

  • Full UK driving licence

  • Working knowledge of NEC contracts, CDM regulations, programme and risk management and cost control

  • Strong knowledge of general civil engineering specifications and testing regimes

  • Strong communication, leadership and team management skills
