We’re hiring experienced Substance Misuse Nurses to join us in a 3-6 month temporary position, working 37.5 hours per week.

What you’ll do:

• Provide high-quality person-centred nursing care to individuals experiencing substance misuse. 
  
• Complete clinical and risk assessments and develop individual care plans.
• Deliver harm reduction, recovery and health & wellbeing interventions.
  
• Support clinics, health education, BBV testing, vaccinations and detox programmes.
  
• Safely administer and supervise medication, including control drugs.
  
• Uphold the highest standards of patient safety, dignity and respect.
  
• Maintain strong safeguarding and security awareness within the prison environment.

What we’re looking for:

• Current NMC registration as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  
• At least 6 months of post-qualification experience in a UK-based care setting
  
• Experience in substance misuse is essential.
  
• Previous experience in a prison / secure healthcare setting is essential.
  
• Valid Prison Clearance.
• Confidence in carrying out clinical and risk assessments.
  
• Knowledge of medication management and the safe handling of controlled drugs.
  
• Strong understanding of substance misuse, drug and alcohol treatment, harm reduction and recovery interventions.  
  
• Excellent communication, organisation and record-keeping skills.
