Site Supervisor / Foreman – Groundworks

Location: Chinnor, Oxfordshire

Rate: Negotiable depending on experience

Duration: Initial project expected to run for approximately 12 months

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: 07:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday, with overtime and weekend work available

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Supervisor / Foreman to oversee a major groundworks package in the Chinnor area. This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy contractor on a long-term project with an immediate start available.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage up to 4–5 groundworks gangs, each consisting of approximately 4–5 operatives.

• Drive productivity and ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with programme requirements.

• Coordinate labour, plant, and materials to ensure site teams have everything required to maintain progress.

• Monitor daily site operations and maintain high standards of health and safety.

• Liaise with site management, subcontractors, suppliers, and operatives.

• Ensure works are completed to specification, quality standards, and project deadlines.

• Deliver site briefings and toolbox talks where required.

• Proactively identify and resolve issues that could impact programme delivery.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Site Supervisor, Foreman, Groundworks Foreman, or similar role on industrial groundworks or civil engineering projects.

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple gangs and drive site productivity.

• Experience coordinating labour, plant, and materials on busy construction sites.

• SSSTS or SMSTS certification.

• Valid CSCS card (any colour considered depending on experience and qualifications).

• Relevant NVQ qualification desirable.

• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures and site operations.
