Salary: £39,655 annually plus Veolia Benefits
Location: Solihull B91 2LW
Hours: 40 hours weekly (Variable 05:30 - 14.00 or 09:00 to 17:30 - Monday to Friday)

What you'll be doing;
● Working within a team of 5 Waste Supervisors, you will take a leading role in representing Veolia in an effective, professional and efficient manner.
● Ensure that service standards delivered exceed industry standards and align with both Veolia and Solihull Council&objectives
● Co-ordinate, plan and manage the day-to-day food waste collection service
● Lead by example and ensure the safe operation of all associated vehicles, plant and equipment
● Conduct crew inspections and monitor work carried out on the contract
● Assist in the management of the transfer station and depot, ensuring compliance with permit requirements
● Assist supervisors across Waste, Cleansing, HWRC and grounds maintenance to ensure compliance with Contract requirements
● Maintain a safe and managed workforce
● Deliver induction to all new employees and Keep training requirements up to date
● Manage caseloads for HR procedures including Absence Management, Transport compliance, investigations and disciplinaries
● Working under pressure and meet deadlines
What we're looking for;
Essential:
● GCSE Maths and English (Grade 4/C or equivalent)
● Valid driving licence (Category B minimum)
● Health and Safety at Work certification (or willingness to obtain)
● First Aid at Work certificate (or willingness to obtain)
● Strong leadership and people management capabilities
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
● Problem-solving and decision-making ability
● Organisational and time management skills
● IT proficiency (Google Suite)
● Attention to detail
Desirable:
● Minimum 3-5 years&experience in a supervisory or team leader role
● Proven experience managing and motivating teams in an operational environment
● Experience in waste management, environmental services, or similar public-facing service delivery
● Demonstrated experience with HR procedures including absence management, disciplinary processes and investigations
● Experience in health and safety management and compliance
● Knowledge of vehicle and fleet management or transport compliance
● Experience liaising with external stakeholders, local authorities and the public
