Supplier Quality Engineer

Our client, a global leader in aerospace fuel systems, is currently seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their team in Titchfield, Hampshire. This permanent role offers an exciting opportunity within the aerospace industry as our client relocates to a new state-of-the-art facility in Daedalus. The new site will serve as the Centre of Excellence for aerospace manufacturing across Europe.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and control the supplier base to our client's standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate suppliers using Supplier Quality Assessment techniques such as audits, questionnaires, and metrics.
  • Approve suppliers by conducting "desktop" and/or on-site audits of their Quality Management System.
  • Ensure that regulatory, customer, and business requirements are communicated to suppliers and sub-contractors.
  • Develop and deliver training programmes (internal and external).
  • Participate in resolving issues with suppliers related to manufacturing, quality, handling, and communications.
  • Authorise concessions in line with company and customer requirements.
  • Update supplier metrics and maintain supplier or sub-contractor specifications and standards.
  • Maintain supplier SPC records and approvals on the ERP system.
  • Conduct external and internal auditing with authority to accept or reject proposed suppliers.


Job Requirements:

  • Experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment, with a strong working knowledge of aerospace regulatory and quality requirements, including EASA Part 21 and AS/EN9100.
  • Practical experience of auditing suppliers within the electro-mechanical and mechanical engineering industries.
  • Proven ability to supervise corrective actions and improvement activities with suppliers.
  • Supplier evaluation and development experience, preferably in a lead role.
  • Proficiency with Excel and Word, and the ability to learn new business software.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to organise and collaborate effectively with others.
  • Ability to liaise with senior management, demonstrating understanding of various conventions.
  • Qualified auditor.


Qualifications:

  • Degree, BTEC, or HND in an engineering-related discipline (experience may be taken in lieu of qualification).


Other Information:

  • Travel required 2-4 times a month within the UK, and occasionally overseas.
