The Supply Chain Finance Business Partner acts as a strategic liaison between Finance and operational teams across logistics and supply chain. The role translates financial data into actionable insights, supports senior decision-making, owns Supply Chain P&L performance, and drives cost efficiency and value creation across complex, fast-paced operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the Supply Chain P&L, including weekly flash reporting, monthly management accounts, variance analysis, and inventory reporting.
- Lead annual budgeting and forecasting processes, including financial reviews with third-party logistics partners.
- Partner with senior operational leaders to evaluate investment proposals, productivity initiatives, and capital expenditure, tracking ROI and savings delivery.
- Develop, monitor, and report on key cost and performance KPIs (e.g. cost per unit, warehousing and transport efficiency, stock write-offs).
- Provide commercial insight by interpreting operational and financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Ensure strong financial governance, control, and adherence to Group financial policies.
- Support business case development through detailed data analysis and complex ROI modelling.
Person Specification
- Qualified accountant (or equivalent experience) with strong commercial finance capability.
- Experience in a fast-paced logistics, supply chain, or FMCG environment.
- Proven experience managing large-scale budgets (in excess of £100m per annum), including in-house and third-party models.
- Ability to operate in a non-hierarchical business, with credibility to influence and challenge at all levels.
- Collaborative, innovative, and commercially minded, with strong business acumen.
- Advanced Excel and Power BI skills; experience with ERP or WMS systems (e.g. Blue Yonder) desirable.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate financial concepts for non-finance audiences.
