We are seeking an experienced and commercially focused Supply Chain Manager to lead and optimise our assessor and surveyor supply network. This is a key role responsible for ensuring we have the right resources, in the right locations, at the right time to deliver excellent service to our customers.

The successful candidate will manage the full supply chain lifecycle, from sourcing and onboarding assessors and surveyors through to capacity planning, supplier performance management, service delivery, SLA achievement and quality control.

You will play a critical role in improving operational efficiency, controlling costs, managing supply chain risks and ensuring our supply strategy supports business growth and customer commitments.

Key Responsibilities

The Supply Chain Manager will develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with business objectives, ensuring current and future resource requirements are identified and effectively managed. The role will involve reviewing assessor and surveyor capacity, forecasting demand based on project pipelines and operational trends, identifying capacity gaps and delivering improvement plans with clear actions, ownership and timescales.

The role will be responsible for managing relationships with assessors, surveyors, agencies and other supply partners to ensure agreed costs, service levels and quality standards are achieved. The Supply Chain Manager will monitor supplier performance, address issues relating to delays, capacity challenges, service quality or commercial performance, and take appropriate corrective action where required.

A key responsibility will be maintaining sufficient assessor and surveyor capacity across all projects. The role will lead proactive recruitment activity, identify future resource requirements, understand geographical and skills-based challenges, and ensure mobilisation plans are supported by timely recruitment activity to prevent service gaps.

The Supply Chain Manager will optimise resource deployment by considering availability, location, capability, travel requirements and commercial impact. The role will focus on improving operational efficiency, reducing unnecessary travel, increasing resource utilisation and ensuring customer requirements are consistently achieved.

The successful candidate will identify and deliver cost optimisation opportunities across the supply chain, including supplier cost management, improved route planning, reducing waste and monitoring the effectiveness of cost-saving initiatives while maintaining service quality.

The role will use historical performance data, project pipeline information and operational trends to produce accurate demand forecasts. The Supply Chain Manager will ensure supply plans are regularly reviewed and updated to maintain the correct balance between meeting customer demand and managing operational costs.

The Supply Chain Manager will identify opportunities to introduce technology that improves supply chain visibility, reporting, planning and service delivery. The role will ensure that technology improvements have clear objectives, measurable benefits and effective implementation plans.

The role will also be responsible for identifying and managing supply chain risks, including supplier failure, resource shortages, service delays and external factors that may impact delivery. The Supply Chain Manager will maintain contingency plans, monitor risks proactively and escalate issues where business objectives, customer commitments or compliance requirements may be affected.

The successful candidate will ensure all supply chain activity complies with relevant regulatory, environmental, health and safety requirements and will support continuous improvement initiatives that enhance performance, efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Performance Expectations

The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for maintaining strong SLA performance, ensuring sufficient assessor and surveyor capacity, improving supplier performance, delivering cost efficiencies and providing accurate reporting on supply chain performance, risks and improvement opportunities.

The role will require regular review of operational performance data, identification of trends, implementation of corrective actions and collaboration with internal teams including Sales, Operations and Senior Leadership to ensure supply chain activity supports wider business objectives.

Skills and Experience Required

The successful candidate will have experience in supply chain management, resource planning, procurement, supplier management or operational delivery. They will have strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends and produce accurate forecasts.

Experience managing external suppliers, contractors or service providers is essential, along with strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with suppliers, customers and internal teams. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong problem-solving ability, commercial awareness and the ability to identify opportunities for improvement and deliver measurable results.

Experience managing field-based resources, assessors, surveyors or national service networks would be advantageous, as would experience supporting contract mobilisation and operational transformation projects.
