Description
As the Supply Chain Manager you will be responsible for:
- Line management and development of the Supply Chain team
- Lead tendering, evaluation, placement, and management of purchase orders and contracts
- Build and maintain strong supplier and stakeholder relationships, including formal supplier reviews
- Provide expert guidance on UK import/export compliance and make‑vs‑buy strategies
- Own end‑to‑end procurement processes, from planning through to contract award and handover
- Introduce innovative and value‑driven commercial and contracting models
- Manage procurement risk, performance against procurement plans, and critical supply routes
- Drive continuous improvement, cost optimisation, and performance management across the function
- Track and report functional KPIs to reduce total cost of acquisition and improve effectiveness
- Ensure robust processes for contract governance, documentation, and compliance
- Support change initiatives within a regulated manufacturing environment
Profile
Ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Degree qualified (or equivalent experience)
- CIPS qualified with a minimum of 5 years' post‑qualification experience
- Strong background in supply chain, procurement, and contract management
- Solid understanding of UK import/export legislation
- Experience working in regulated environments (ISO 13485 / 9001 / 14001 / 45001)
- Proven people manager with change management experience
- Familiar with Lean systems or Lean administration
- Commercial, structured, and confident operating cross‑functionally
