An established, global manufacturing organisation is seeking a commercially minded Supply Chain Manager to take full ownershipofend‑to‑end supply chain and procurement activities at a key UK site.

This is a visible leadership role with direct responsibility for people, suppliers, contracts, and performance, supporting a regulated, high‑quality manufacturing environment.

Description

As the Supply Chain Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Line management and development of the Supply Chain team
  • Lead tendering, evaluation, placement, and management of purchase orders and contracts
  • Build and maintain strong supplier and stakeholder relationships, including formal supplier reviews
  • Provide expert guidance on UK import/export compliance and make‑vs‑buy strategies
  • Own end‑to‑end procurement processes, from planning through to contract award and handover
  • Introduce innovative and value‑driven commercial and contracting models
  • Manage procurement risk, performance against procurement plans, and critical supply routes
  • Drive continuous improvement, cost optimisation, and performance management across the function
  • Track and report functional KPIs to reduce total cost of acquisition and improve effectiveness
  • Ensure robust processes for contract governance, documentation, and compliance
  • Support change initiatives within a regulated manufacturing environment

Profile

Ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Degree qualified (or equivalent experience)
  • CIPS qualified with a minimum of 5 years' post‑qualification experience
  • Strong background in supply chain, procurement, and contract management
  • Solid understanding of UK import/export legislation
  • Experience working in regulated environments (ISO 13485 / 9001 / 14001 / 45001)
  • Proven people manager with change management experience
  • Familiar with Lean systems or Lean administration
  • Commercial, structured, and confident operating cross‑functionally
