A well-established manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Supply Chain & Inventory Planner to join its UK Supply Chain team. This is a key position focused on ensuring the uninterrupted supply of finished goods and materials whilst maintaining optimum inventory levels and driving continuous improvement across the supply chain function.Working closely with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and operational teams, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in balancing customer service, inventory performance, supplier management, and cost control.

Your new role

  • Supply Planning & Inventory Management.
  • Manage the supply planning and procurement of finished goods from external suppliers and internal manufacturing sites.
  • Raise, manage, and monitor purchase orders to ensure alignment with customer demand and inventory requirements.
  • Expedite supplier deliveries and proactively manage supply risks to maintain product availability.
  • Monitor stock levels and inventory health, ensuring optimal inventory performance and minimising excess and obsolete stock.
  • Analyse inventory trends and provide recommendations to improve stock availability, reduce working capital, and optimise supply chain performance.
  • Participate in inventory review activities, identifying risks, opportunities, and corrective actions.
  • Develop strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturing facilities, and internal stakeholders.
  • Communicate supply shortages, delays, and risks to relevant departments and support resolution activities.
  • Monitor supplier performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Escalate supplier issues where necessary and assist with the implementation of corrective action plans.
  • Manage supply chain disruptions and implement mitigation plans to minimise customer impact.
  • Support inventory optimisation and product rationalisation initiatives.
  • Work cross-functionally to resolve stock shortages and improve service levels.
  • Identify and deliver continuous improvement projects focused on efficiency, service enhancement, cost reduction, and increased supply chain visibility.
  • Support the implementation and standardisation of supply chain processes and best practices.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Previous experience in Supply Planning, Inventory Planning, Materials Planning, or Supply Chain Coordination.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management principles and supply chain processes.
  • Experience using ERP systems, ideally SAP.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel capability.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven stakeholder and supplier management experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
