Supply Chain Project Manager | Oxford | £65,000 - £75,000

About the Company

Our client is a leading international organisation operating at the forefront of the advanced technology sectors. With decades of experience and a strong track record of delivering complex missions and high-value technology programmes, the business works with major customers across the UK and international markets.

As the organisation continues to grow its UK presence and take on increasingly complex programmes, it is looking for an experienced Supply Chain Specialist / Project Manager to play a key role in the successful delivery of supplier and subcontract activities.

The Role

This is a project-focused supply chain role with responsibility for managing the full supplier lifecycle across complex programmes.

You will act as the key interface between Supply Chain, Project Management, Engineering, Quality, Commercial, Finance and external suppliers, ensuring that suppliers deliver against agreed cost, quality, technical and schedule requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop project-specific supply chain and procurement strategies alongside Project and Bid Managers.
  • Identify critical suppliers, long-lead items and potential supply chain dependencies.
  • Integrate procurement and subcontract activities into wider project schedules.
  • Provide supply chain input throughout the bid and business development process.
  • Support bid/no-bid decisions by assessing supplier capability, cost, capacity and delivery risk.
  • Lead or coordinate supplier selection activities within cross-functional project teams.
  • Manage RFP/RFQ processes in line with agreed procurement strategies.
  • Assess suppliers against technical, commercial, quality, delivery and performance criteria.
  • Support the development and management of supplier contractual arrangements.
  • Ensure deliverables, milestones, acceptance criteria and reporting requirements are clearly defined.
  • Take ownership of the day-to-day project management of key suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Establish clear delivery expectations, KPIs and review processes.

About You

We are looking for someone with a strong background in supply chain, procurement, subcontract management or supply chain project management, ideally gained within a complex engineering or technology environment.

Essential Experience

+Proven experience in Supply Chain, Procurement, Subcontract Management or Supply Chain Project Management.
+Experience managing suppliers within complex projects or programmes.
+Strong understanding of managing suppliers against cost, quality, technical and schedule requirements.
+Experience developing and implementing procurement or supply chain strategies.
+Experience with supplier selection, RFP/RFQ processes and commercial evaluation.
Strong supplier performance and issue-management experience.
+Good project management skills, including planning, risk management, reporting and action tracking.
+Experience working across multiple functions and managing competing priorities.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced supply chain professional who wants to take ownership of strategic supplier management and project delivery within a highly technical environment, working closely with engineering, commercial and programme teams without the requirement for traditional line-management responsibility.
