Supply Chain Specialist (Inventory Control)

Company – A life science biospecimen provider

Location – Burgess Hill (Hybrid, 2-3  days a week onsite)

Salary – £35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience

Contract – Permanent and full-time

Our client is a biospecimen provider, sourcing, supplying and distributing a vast array of human and animal tissues in disease and non-disease states. The work they do is vital to supporting the research into disease and enabling new treatments across all disease areas.

Due to internal needs, they are seeking an experienced supply chain professional to set up robust processes for inventory control, ensuring redistribution centres are stocking the correct levels of each biospecimen / product line at the correct times to ensure they are readily available to warehouse and logistics teams to facilitate timely deliveries to clients.

This is a full-time and permanent position requiring someone with previous supply chain experience, a good understanding of setting up processes and (ideally) a knowledge of biological sciences.

The Role

As a Supply Chain Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Keeping stock of biospecimens at redistribution sectors (Burgess Hill & 1 European venue). You will have access to a variety of intra-company facilities from which biospecimens come from.
  • Demand planning and forecasting inventory needs for biospecimens.
  • Creating inventory management processes and systems to improve inventory efficiency at the redistribution centres – your aim will be to have the correct level of stock of each product line at the correct times to allow for efficient distribution to clients.
  • Working with a wide range of internal stakeholders including warehouse, logistics, sales, other distribution centres etc.
  • Giving reports and presentations to internal stakeholders to showcase inventory planning activities.
  • Working with Salesforce and SageX3

The Candidate

In order to be successful in the position, the candidate will have:

  • BSc degree (desired – equivalent experience in a similar role is also fine).
  • Must have had several years of inventory management / supply chain experience (essential).
  • Must have had several years of demand planning / inventory forecasting (essential).
  • A background in a life science company is beneficial (desired).
  • A track record of clear and professional communication with suppliers and other stakeholders (essential).
  • Prior experience in leading improvement initiatives for inventory planning / management (desire).
  • Prior experience with ERPs (essential), Sage X3 (desired).
  • A desire to contribute to improvement initiatives within the business (essential).
  • Full right to work in the UK without the need for visa sponsorship now, or in the future (essential – visa sponsorship is NOT available).

The Package

This is a full-time and permanent opportunity. Salary range is £35,000 - £40,000, with discretionary bonus, 25 days holiday (+ bank holidays on top), private healthcare, life assurance, pension contributions and free onsite parking.
