About the role:
Prospero Teaching are seeking enthusiastic and adaptable Cover Supervisors to work within secondary schools. This role is perfect for individuals looking for flexibility around other commitments while gaining valuable classroom experience. You will supervise lessons in the absence of teaching staff, ensuring students remain engaged and on task.
Previous experience in education is beneficial but not essential. Successful candidates may come from a variety of backgrounds including teaching assistance, youth work, sports coaching, mentoring, tutoring, childcare, customer service, armed forces, performing arts or other roles involving leadership and working with young people.
We're looking for a dedicated candidate to:
- Supervise whole classes during teacher absences
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively
- Deliver pre-planned lesson activities
- Support students in completing set work
- Build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Adapt confidently to different subjects and year groups
- Maintain a safe and productive learning environment
Requirements -
The ideal candidate would have:
- Experience working with young people, either in schools or other settings
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence managing groups of students
- A flexible and proactive approach to work
- Excellent organisational skills
- The ability to remain calm under pressure
- A genuine interest in education and supporting student development
