About the Home

We are recruiting for a Senior Residential Support Worker to join a well-established 3-bed EBD/LD children's home.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a consistent team focused on achieving positive outcomes for children and young people.

Shift Pattern

Rolling 2-on 4-off rota

  • Day 1: 9:30am – 11:00pm
  • Day 2: 7:00am – 11:00pm
  • Day 3: 7:00am – 10:00am (handover before beginning four rest days)
  • Sleep-in payment: £60 per sleep

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality, child-centred care and support.
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
  • Build trusting relationships with young people and act as a positive role model.
  • Support education, independence, life skills, and recreational activities.
  • Complete accurate daily records, care plans, and incident reports.
  • Administer medication where appropriate.
  • Safeguard children and ensure compliance with Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
  • Support and mentor Residential Support Workers within the team.
  • Participate in team meetings, training, and supervisions.

Requirements

  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working within a residential children's home.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and Children's Homes Regulations.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • A caring, resilient, and positive approach to supporting young people.
  • Full UK driving licence is desirable.
