Support Worker – Supported Living
Location: Druids Heath, Birmingham, B14
Pay: £12.71 per hour
Day shifts: 8am–8pm
Night shifts: 8pm–8am
Brookes Recruitment is recruiting experienced Support Workers for a supported living service in Druids Heath, Birmingham.
The service supports adults with learning disabilities, mental health needs and behaviours that may challenge. We are looking for calm, reliable and compassionate Support Workers who understand how to provide consistent, person-centred support within a supported living environment.
This is specifically a Supported Living Support Worker position. Applicants must have relevant experience and be confident promoting independence while managing risk and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
Responsibilities
- Supporting individuals with their daily routines and agreed support plans.
- Promoting independence, choice, dignity and community involvement.
- Providing personal care where required.
- Supporting individuals with their emotional and mental wellbeing.
- Responding calmly and appropriately to behaviours that may challenge.
- Using agreed positive-behaviour support and de-escalation approaches.
- Supporting with medication in accordance with training and service procedures.
- Completing accurate daily notes, incident reports and other records.
- Recognising and reporting safeguarding or welfare concerns.
- Working consistently with colleagues, families and other professionals.
- Maintaining a safe and respectful supported living environment.
Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Previous Support Worker experience within a supported living or similar social-care environment.
- Experience supporting adults with learning disabilities and mental health needs.
- Confidence supporting people who may display behaviours that challenge.
- A calm, patient and person-centred approach.
- Strong communication and record-keeping skills.
- Reliability and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Availability for 12-hour day shifts, night shifts or both.
- An existing Right to Work in the UK.
Relevant care qualifications, practical training and an existing DBS would be advantageous.
