About the Role

Affinity Staff Limited is recruiting resilient, dedicated Residential Support Workers to join our agency team supporting an established, Ofsted-registered children's residential provider in the Solihull area.

In this role, you will provide vital day-to-day stability, structure, and therapeutic support to children and young people who have experienced trauma, complex emotional needs, or adverse childhood experiences. This position offers flexible shift patterns (day shifts, waking nights, and sleep-ins) to fit your schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred care in alignment with Ofsted standards and individual therapeutic care plans.
  • Build positive, trusting relationships with children and young people to promote emotional well-being and personal growth.
  • Support daily routines including education attendance, life skills development, recreational activities, and meal times.
  • Proactively manage challenging behaviors using calm, de-escalation techniques and therapeutic care approaches.
  • Maintain clear, accurate shift logs, incident reports, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure a safe, clean, and nurturing home environment for all residents.

About You

  • Minimum 6–12 months of direct experience working with vulnerable children or young people in residential childcare, youth work, or specialized care settings.
  • NVQ / Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or Level 3 Children and Young People's Workforce) is preferred, or working towards it.
  • Strong communication skills, high resilience, and a calm, empathetic manner under pressure.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (preferred for transporting young people to appointments and activities).
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willing to undergo a check).
