Location: Egham, Surrey
Salary: £29,000 – £40,000 (experience‑dependent)

Role Purpose
To deliver high‑quality, trauma‑informed care to children and young people in a residential setting. The role ensures safety, emotional wellbeing, and developmental progress in line with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015, Quality Standards, and the home’s Statement of Purpose.

Key Responsibilities
• Safeguarding Practice — Maintain a safe environment, follow safeguarding procedures, and escalate concerns immediately.
• Direct Care & Support — Provide daily care, emotional support, routines, and positive role modelling.
• Care Planning — Contribute to care plans, risk assessments, behaviour support plans, and placement objectives.
• Record Keeping — Complete daily logs, incident reports, key‑work notes, and Regulation 40‑related documentation.
• Key‑Working — Support identity, emotional development, education, and life skills for allocated children.
• Education & Activities — Promote school attendance, homework routines, enrichment activities, and community engagement.
• Team Collaboration — Work effectively with colleagues, social workers, therapists, and external professionals.
• Behaviour Support — Use trauma‑informed approaches, de‑escalation, and follow behaviour management policies.
• Household Duties — Maintain a clean, organised, homely environment and support independence skills.
• Regulatory Compliance — Work in line with Ofsted expectations and internal policies.

Shift Structure
• 15‑hour shifts (day or late)
• Sleep‑ins available but not mandatory

Essential Requirements
• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent CYPW qualification).
• Experience supporting children with emotional, behavioural, or complex needs.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and trauma‑informed practice.
• Ability to work long shifts and maintain professional resilience.
• Clear written communication for logs, incidents, and regulatory documentation.
• Enhanced DBS clearance.
• Driving licence preferred.
