About the Role

We are seeking dedicated Care Workers to join a specialist residential school in the Andover area that supports children and young people with additional needs. This long-term role begins in September 2026, with the genuine opportunity to become a permanent member of the team for the right person.

The school supports students with a range of complex needs including autism, communication differences, ADHD, social/emotional needs and mild-to-moderate learning difficulties. Many pupils follow personalised programmes designed to help them develop independence, emotional regulation, communication, and essential life skills.

This role is non-personal care and focuses on providing consistent daily support, helping young people feel safe, understood, and empowered. You will work within a therapeutic, structured environment that enables students to thrive socially, academically, and emotionally.

You’ll collaborate closely with teachers, residential/key workers, therapists, and senior staff to deliver high‑quality, student‑centred care throughout the school day.

• Supporting young people with additional needs in daily routines and structured learning sessions
• Encouraging independence, self‑esteem and positive social interaction
• Building calm, trusting and encouraging relationships with pupils
• Supporting emotional regulation using therapeutic and school‑approved strategies
• Working collaboratively with teaching, residential and therapy teams
• Providing consistent guidance during challenging or emotionally complex situations
• Helping pupils access learning, enrichment activities, and life skills development programmes
• Ensuring students feel safe, supported and valued at all times

• Access to your own car and a clean driving licence is essential due to the rural location
