Workforce Personnel are currently recruiting experienced and dedicated Support Workers to work across a variety of supported living services, residential settings, and specialist care environments in Stevenage.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support individuals with a range of needs, including learning disabilities, mental health needs, autism, physical disabilities, and complex behaviours. You will play a key role in helping service users maintain independence, build confidence, and enjoy a better quality of life through practical support, emotional encouragement, and person-centred care.
Key Responsibilities
As a Support Worker, your duties may include:
- Supporting service users with daily living activities, including personal care where required
- Promoting independence, choice, dignity, and inclusion at all times
- Assisting with meal preparation, medication support, and household tasks
- Providing emotional support, encouragement, and companionship
- Helping individuals access the community, appointments, education, and social activities
- Following and contributing to individual support plans and risk assessments
- Monitoring and reporting any changes in behaviour, wellbeing, or health
- Maintaining accurate daily records and incident reports
- Supporting individuals in a way that is safe, respectful, and person-centred
- Working closely with colleagues, families, and other professionals to achieve the best outcomes
Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- 6–12 months’ UK support work or care experience (essential)
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable adults and/or young people
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong written and spoken English and the ability to follow care/support plans
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including days, nights, weekends, earlies, and lates
- An Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
- Willingness to complete face-to-face mandatory training
- The ability to provide satisfactory references
