Help Young People Build Independent Futures
Peabody is looking for a compassionate and motivated Support Worker to support young people aged 16-25 to develop the skills, confidence, and resilience needed to live independently.
Working with young people who may have experienced homelessness, social exclusion, mental health challenges, or other barriers, you'll provide person-centred support that empowers them to achieve their goals and thrive within their communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver person-centred support to young people living in supported housing.
- Complete needs assessments, risk assessments, and support plans.
- Support residents with daily living skills, including cooking, cleaning, budgeting, shopping, and managing finances.
- Help young people build confidence, independence, and resilience.
- Support access to education, training, employment, and community services.
- Assist residents to sustain accommodation and explore future housing options.
- Work closely with external agencies and partner organisations.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to safeguarding and support planning.
- Participate in team meetings and training.
About You
- Experience supporting vulnerable people in the community or supported living environments, either professionally or through volunteering.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with young people and external partners.
- Compassionate, empathetic, and committed to helping others succeed.
- Able to work independently, including lone working, and as part of a team.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and case management systems.
- Full driving licence and access to your own vehicle, as travel between schemes is required.
