Location: Reading
Pay Rate: £13.00 - £13.50 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm
Contract: Temp to Perm

We are currently recruiting for a Surface Preparation Operative to join a busy and growing manufacturing business based in Reading.
This is a hands-on role preparing metal components prior to the powder coating process. The successful candidate will be responsible for sanding, cleaning and preparing products to a high standard before they move through the next stage of production.
The working environment can become very warm during peak periods, with temperatures reaching up to 35°C.
Key Responsibilities
- Sanding and preparing metal components ready for powder coating
- Removing surface imperfections and defects
- Cleaning and degreasing components prior to processing
- Masking products where required
- Carrying out visual quality inspections
- Using hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Maintaining a clean and organised work area
- Adhering to all health and safety procedures
Requirements
- Previous experience within manufacturing, production, engineering, assembly or preparation work would be advantageous
- Experience using sanding equipment, grinders or hand tools is desirable
- Good attention to detail and quality standards
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a warm environment
- Full UK driving licence and own transport essential
- Ability to successfully pass a DBS check
- Reliable, punctual and hardworking
