A Leading Specialist delivering complex engineering solutions across high-consequence UK environments is expanding its operations and seeking a highly skilled Survey CAD Technician to join their team based in Treforest, South Wales. This is a pivotal role offering the chance to transform complex topographical, reality-capture, and utility datasets into high-precision 2D/3D deliverables for major infrastructure, utility, and civil engineering projects nationwide.
The Opportunity:
You will play a vital role in transforming raw site surveys and laser scan data into high-quality models and technical drawings. Your day-to-day remit involves:
- Producing accurate 2D CAD drawings and 3D Revit models from raw survey, laser scanning, and engineering datasets.
- Processing, registering, and interpreting point clouds, LiDAR, reality-capture, and topographical survey data.
- Preparing and quality-checking technical deliverables, including support for subsurface utility mapping and PAS 128 standards.
- Collaborating closely with land surveyors, civil engineers, and project managers to streamline CAD processing workflows and deliver projects to strict quality standards.
To be successful, you must demonstrate high-level technical proficiency:
- Mandatory: Minimum 2 years demonstrable experience working with AutoCAD and Revit in a Survey CAD, Geospatial, or Engineering Technician capacity; proven experience working with point-cloud datasets.
- Compliance/Systems: Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit; working knowledge or familiarity with Trimble Business Center (TBC), N4CE, Leica Cyclone, Trimble RealWorks, or PIX4D; familiarity with PAS 128 subsurface utility documentation standards.
- Experience: Practical background in survey data processing, Scan-to-BIM modeling, topographical surveys, or civil/infrastructure engineering deliverables.
- Mobility: Must be able to reliably commute to the Treforest office daily (or relocate prior to commencement).
- Competitive base salary of £30,000 – £40,000 (commensurate with technical experience).
