A fantastic opportunity has arisen for one of our clients based in Telford, which is a multidisciplinary geospatial and surveying company. This business has built a strong reputation for delivering precise, high-quality survey data across a wide range of specialist disciplines. Services span rail and infrastructure survey, 3D laser scanning, BIM modelling, and utility and heritage surveys, supporting projects across the rail, highways, energy, and construction sectors nationwide. My client works across civil infrastructure & the construction industry.

With a long-standing reputation for technical excellence and a growing, close-knit team, the business is now looking to recruit an experienced Survey Project Manager to join its operations on a hybrid basis. Reporting to the Head of Department, the Survey Project Manager will work closely with senior surveyors, technical managers, and data analysts to lead projects from initial enquiry through to completion. The role carries overall responsibility for project delivery, client relationships, quality, and commercial performance across a busy portfolio of surveying projects.

Responsibility & Duties

  • Lead and mentor project teams to deliver outstanding client results
  • Manage projects from initial enquiry through to final delivery
  • Coordinate personnel, equipment, and resources across live projects
  • Act as main client contact throughout each project
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews before issuing client deliverables
  • Support tenders, quotations, and commercial proposals for new projects
  • Monitor budgets, schedules, and quality standards across all projects
  • As Survey Project Manager, ensure compliance with industry and safety standards

Experience & Qualification

  • Proven experience in project management within land surveying or engineering
  • Background in geospatial, rail, utilities, or related survey disciplines
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and people management skills essential
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving abilities required
  • Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and profitability
  • Confident client relationship management and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence required for this position
  • Ideal candidates will have prior Survey Project Manager experience
