Systems Requirements Engineer
Location: Belfast/ Manchester/Bristol/ Derby
Rate: £70 ph Umbrella
Duration: 6 month rolling
Eligible for SC clearance

We are seeking Systems Requirements Engineers to join our growing engineering team, supporting the delivery of complex and innovative programmes within the Maritime and Defence sectors.

This is an exciting opportunity to work across the full engineering lifecycle, helping to develop, define and manage requirements for advanced systems and capabilities. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, customers and key stakeholders to ensure solutions meet operational needs and deliver against demanding technical and programme requirements.

The Role

As a Systems Requirements Engineer, you will play a key role in translating customer and stakeholder needs into clear, structured and verifiable requirements. You will support the development and integration of complex systems while ensuring robust requirements management and traceability throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
• Capture, analyse and manage stakeholder, customer and system requirements.
• Develop clear, concise and testable requirements in line with industry best practice.
• Maintain requirements traceability throughout the engineering lifecycle.
• Support requirements decomposition, verification and validation activities.
• Work collaboratively with systems, software, hardware and integration teams.
• Support system design reviews and technical assurance activities.
• Identify and manage technical risks, assumptions and dependencies.
• Contribute to the development of systems engineering processes and best practices.
• Engage with customers and stakeholders to ensure requirements accurately reflect operational and programme needs.

Key Skillset
• Experience of requirements management tools such as IBM DOORS, DOORS Next, Polarion or similar.
• Knowledge of the systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements capture, decomposition, verification and validation.
• Experience working on complex engineering programmes within Maritime, Defence, Aerospace or other safety-critical sectors.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• The ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Experience with relevant systems engineering standards and methodologies would be advantageous.
