Elevation Recruitment Group are working with a growing international business that is looking to appoint a Tax Accountant to support the Group across a broad range of tax responsibilities. Reporting into the senior finance team, you’ll have exposure across VAT, corporation tax, direct and indirect tax, as well as a range of wider Group tax matters.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll be expected to take responsibility for your areas of work from the outset, working closely with finance and non-finance stakeholders and external advisers where required.

Key Responsibilities of the Tax Accountant:

  • Preparing and managing UK VAT returns, including reviewing input and output VAT and responding to HMRC queries
  • Supporting indirect tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions and working with external tax advisers where required
  • Supporting corporation tax computations, compliance, and wider tax reporting
  • Assisting with relevant tax compliance obligations and monitoring
  • Supporting the maintenance of transfer pricing documentation across the Group
  • Reviewing transactions and financial information to ensure the correct tax treatment is applied
  • Identifying and investigating potential VAT and wider tax risks or anomalies
  • Responding to tax queries from finance, commercial and wider business stakeholders
  • Maintaining accurate tax records, workpapers, compliance files and tax calendars
  • Keeping up to date with relevant changes in tax legislation and considering their impact on the business
  • Supporting tax projects, process improvements, and the implementation of appropriate tax controls
  • Working with external tax and professional advisers where required
  • Providing wider support across the Group's direct and indirect tax obligations

We’re looking for someone with a strong tax background who is comfortable working independently and taking ownership of their workload.

You’ll ideally have:

  • Practical experience across VAT and corporation tax
  • A good understanding of both direct and indirect tax
  • Experience preparing or supporting VAT returns
  • Some experience with corporation tax compliance
  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
  • Good communication skills, with the confidence to deal with finance and non-finance stakeholders
  • The ability to manage deadlines and work across multiple areas of responsibility
