About the Role
This manufacturer seeks an experienced and commercially minded Tax Manager to take ownership of all aspects of corporate tax compliance, reporting, advisory, and tax planning activities across our EMEA entities.
This is a high-profile, standalone role offering significant responsibility and exposure across multiple jurisdictions. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you will act as the principal tax specialist for the EMEA region, ensuring compliance with UK and international tax regulations while supporting strategic business initiatives, cross-border transactions, and ongoing growth.
The successful candidate will play a critical role in managing tax risk, enhancing governance and controls, optimising the Group's tax position, and providing expert advice to stakeholders across the business. This role offers the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership, Group Tax, external advisers, auditors, legal teams, and tax authorities across a diverse international landscape.
Key Responsibilities
Corporate Tax Compliance & Reporting
- Lead and manage the EMEA corporate tax compliance calendar across multiple jurisdictions.
- Coordinate the accurate and timely preparation, review, and submission of corporation tax returns, tax computations, payments, and supporting documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant tax filing obligations and reporting deadlines.
- Liaise with internal finance teams and external advisers to maintain high standards of compliance and reporting accuracy.
Tax Accounting & Group Reporting
- Prepare and review current and deferred tax provisions under UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Deliver effective tax rate analysis and tax forecasting.
- Prepare statutory tax disclosures and support external audit requirements.
- Coordinate quarterly and annual tax reporting packs.
- Manage Country-by-Country Reporting (CbCR) and Controlled Foreign Company (CFC) reporting requirements.
- Prepare and review tax-related journals, balance sheet reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
VAT & Indirect Tax
- Oversee VAT and indirect tax compliance across EMEA territories.
- Manage VAT registrations, deregistration’s, returns, EC Sales Lists, Intrastat, VIES reporting, PAYE obligations, and other statutory filings.
- Coordinate transfer pricing compliance and documentation requirements across the Group.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of intercompany arrangements.
- Manage international tax registrations and ongoing compliance obligations.
- Assess and mitigate permanent establishment, withholding tax, and cross-border tax risks
- Support Pillar Two data gathering, calculations, and safe-harbour assessments.
- Monitor developments in UK, European, and international tax legislation.
- Assess the impact of legislative changes on the business and recommend appropriate actions.
- Provide proactive advice on risks, opportunities, and compliance implications arising from regulatory changes.
Tax Governance, Risk & ControlsTax Authority & Audit Management
- Act as the primary point of contact for HMRC and other international tax authorities.
- Manage tax audits, inspections, enquiries, correspondence, and information requests.
- Provide commercially focused tax advice to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Build strong relationships with Group Tax, finance teams, legal counsel, external advisers, auditors, and outsourcing partners.
- Drive automation and process improvement initiatives within the tax function.
About You
Qualifications
ACA, ACCA, CTA, or equivalent professional qualification.
Experience
Minimum of five years' post-qualification experience in corporate tax.
Experience operating within multinational or international business environments.
Proven experience managing tax compliance and reporting across multiple jurisdictions.
Experience dealing directly with HMRC and international tax authorities.
Strong tax accounting experience under UK GAAP and IFRS.
