Job Type: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary, Supply

Are you an Early Career Teacher (ECT) looking to gain more classroom experience without committing to your first permanent teaching role?

NextGen Teachers is recruiting ECTs, newly qualified teachers and NQTs for flexible supply teaching work across local primary and secondary schools.

No previous supply teaching experience is required.

Whether you're looking for 1-2 days a week, full-time supply or a longer-term teaching position, we can work around your availability.

Why supply teaching as an ECT?

Supply can be a brilliant way to start your teaching career. You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Build your classroom confidence
  • Develop your behaviour management skills
  • Experience different schools before choosing where you'd like to settle
  • Teach different year groups, key stages or school environments
  • Build experience for future teaching applications
  • Work around your own availability
  • Access both day-to-day and long-term teaching opportunities

We work with schools across West Sussex and Surrey, including mainstream primary and secondary schools as well as SEND and specialist settings.

What we're looking for

You could be:

  • An ECT who has recently completed teacher training
  • Completing your PGCE or teacher training and looking ahead to your first role
  • A newly qualified teacher looking to build experience
  • An ECT who hasn't yet found the right permanent school
  • A teacher who wants to experience different schools before deciding on their next step

You will need to hold UK QTS or be on track to achieve QTS and be able to complete the relevant safeguarding and compliance checks.

What NextGen Teachers can offer

  • Flexible work to suit your availability
  • Day-to-day, short-term and long-term teaching opportunities
  • Local schools across West Sussex and Surrey
  • Opportunities within mainstream and SEND education
  • Weekly pay
  • Support from a local education recruitment consultant
  • Opportunities that can lead to longer-term or permanent positions

You don't need to know exactly what type of school you want to work in yet.

Supply teaching gives you the chance to build your experience, find out what suits you and develop your confidence along the way.

Apply today with your CV and we'll contact you to discuss your availability, preferred locations and the type of teaching experience you're looking for.
